His grandfather used to lift him out of his pram to reach the dartboard. He spent six to seven hours a day practicing during COVID lockdown at age nine. Target Darts had him on a sponsorship deal before he turned fourteen. And Luke Littler — currently the best darts player on earth — publicly approved when Lawrie pushed back on the comparison.
